I am Jonathan Bockian, the author of PLD. I am an attorney in private practice in Massachusetts serving clients in historic preservation, open space preservation and commercial real estate transactions. My preservation clients have included private individuals and families and preservation organizations, including one of the largest regional heritage organization in the United States. I am a graduate of the Harvard Law School. Before opening my own office in 2001, I was a partner at Lane Altman & Owens LLP, and for two years served as chairman of its real estate department. Before joining Lane Altman, I was an associate at the firms of Herrick & Smith and Hale and Dorr (now WilmerHale). I served as Legislative Counsel to the Massachusetts Special Commission on State and County Buildings (the “Ward Commission”) and as Executive Director of the Massachusetts Social and Economic Opportunity Council. My community activities include The Arsenal Center for the Arts, where I am general counsel and have served on the board of directors. I am a Trustee of The Boston Home, a non-profit residential facility for people with advance MS and other progressive neurological conditions. I formerly served as member and chairman of the Watertown Zoning Board of Appeals.
